Split in Two

I
Outstretching a hand to a falling leaf,
A farewell ritual dancing with the breeze,
Purifying the land for its soft touches,
Commemorating our distant smiles,
And further, further it continues to leave,
So, I chose to quickly pick it up and hold it,
Sending all my warmth to its inner core,
Tending to its many complex arid cracks,
Some were so deep and beyond repair,
And even as close as I can be I am still –
Still unsure of my ability to intervene,
All I can do is allow Time to heal itself.

II
And whilst I dream about a surreal era,
Where cracks flawlessly diffuse forever,
Where I await mine to be softly tended,
Or at least to be acknowledged; at least,
Another decides to ride the whispers
Of a warm wind guiding a silent nomad,
Which sounds so elegantly majestic,
And yet, it leaves behind a heavy mirage,
Silence becomes my natural remedy,
Still unsure of my ability to intervene,
All I can do is allow Time to heal itself.

The Black Widow

What will you do when you have been –
Captured by a Black Widow,
Believing that she’s your Queen,
Living happily in her silky strings,
Except they are devouring you – ever – so – slowly,
And when you wake up from this magical dream:
(where your heart screams so loud
That you forget to listen to those close to you,
Those that cared for your angelic smile,
Those who will still await your return patiently)
And then you start to struggle your way out,
Not sure whether it is too late or not,
But you do it nonetheless,
To taste freedom once more,
And to her, you are but a useless pawn,
Trapped in her game –
Suddenly, one string snaps,
That is your remedy,
So you continue cutting all your connections with her,
And with each snap she furiously fits uncontrollably,
Because picturing you dissing her royalty is unbearable,
And you finally escape!
So what now?
Will you return to her throne and burn it down?
Or move on to find another royalty?
Or will you forge yourself into a throne-less King?

My Twin

This angel that I’m inscribing letters to
Has placed many lovely prints on my
Final magical days in the lands of Gael,
We met a while ago but the exhausting
Spin of this world has put the gravity
On our shoulders to never meet again,
Except recently where we discovered
The popularity of (in chorus) corazón,
After which we began sharing melodic
Remedies for the mind, body, and soul,
This angel is now my twin who explores
With me dimensions of ecstatic dances,
And we start our sentences with laughs,
And we randomly end it with even more.

Uncertainty

Uncertain of the watered earth
(Dampened from a drowning sky)
To recollect the puzzled fragments
That grew on ancient branches,
Disintegrated by another soul
That was diseased out of society,
Something contagious is now
After my own insecure self,
Remedies with side effects,
And somehow I might be cured,
Perhaps, the notion of wild
Emotions will now disappear,
An erased historical movement,
Undermined to empower ignorance,
And certainly, I am now shaken
By this huge jigsaw puzzle with
Deliberately missing pieces,
Another movement to elude
A dimensionless emotion
Into many hopeful hugs and
Slightly less skewed kisses,
Buildings demolished for their
Outdated archaeological
Blueprints covered in dust,
But now, a third movement
Attempts to recover missing shards,
And renovate the soul into society,
Surely, this delusional phase is
Just a selfish juvenile uproar,
A system to infinitely drive
The soul into many dead-ends,
The cruelty of this life’s maze,
Constellations have begun to
Change or even disappear,
Severing the bond this soul
Once had with its own tree,
Dismissing all forms of guidance
To follow a narrow passage,
Just enough for few pulses
Of sunlight and moonlight,
And now, this quivering soul is
Branched into the watered earth,
Drowned towards uncertainty.

Peaceful Announcement

Americans and Russians were once in alliance,
Found themselves passionately in defiance,
Once again no-man’s land is a tick-tock clock,
Airstrikes and gunshots to defile the flock,
Soldiers volunteering to follow orders,
Abandoning humanity and crossing borders,
They publicly expressed their well-thought strategy,
Not an invasion but an intricate remedy,
A mixture of burning spices for the skin,
To teach them a lesson – oh friends and kin,
I break internally, and externally I detest
The mention of war every bit of me in protest,
You see, I have seen the world,
East and West, warm and cold,
Never have I ever come across
Happiness being built on loss,
Rather, peace and harmony blossom many smiles,
And if you don’t understand, just walk few miles,
You will learn the nature of people
Is to share dreams with other people,
And never have I learnt a thing or two
About ethnic cleansing, the terrorising flu,
Contaminating air, rivers, and politicians,
Corrupting the trans-national corporations,
Feeding wars and starving mothers,
Drowning kids and hanging fathers,
Some sort of a deathmatch game,
As if guns and joysticks are the same,
Listen and take heed ladies and gentlemen,
And appreciate the voluntary service of this pen.
